This course provides theoretical knowledge and, in particular, hands-on experience in dealing with satellite-based navigation systems for field trips and excursions. Within the scope of a geocaching route specially designed for the seminar, the possibilities and limits of satellite navigation are demonstrated in small groups of a maximum of 3 users per GPS device. Furthermore, geographical questions with regard to the field trip area of the still young Eifel National Park will be addressed.
